ATW 2009 Information for Exhibitors
ABOUT ATW:
The Aquatic Toxicity Workshop is held annually in a different region of Canada, with the goals of attracting a wider interest among ecotoxicologists and gaining a national perspective on current emerging issues. These 3-day workshops are traditionally held in the fall, and are generally attended by up to 400 representatives from the federal and provincial governments, academia, private industry and consulting companies.
A promotional exhibit at ATW provides an excellent opportunity to meet and network with a highly influential group of aquatic scientists from across Canada and the world.
THE VENUE:
The ATW 2009 Workshop will be held from September 27 to 30, 2009, at La Malbaie, in the Charlevoix region (Quebec). The conference site is close to the Saguenay-St. Lawrence Marine Park, and is surrounded by the UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve of the Charlevoix region, which combines a mountainous landscape with the splendour of the St. Lawrence as it changes from a freshwater river to a saltwater estuary.
The theme of the ATW 2009 – From spring to sea: a world of connection – was inspired by the Charlevoix region: the place where mountains meet the water and where freshwater meets saltwater. Hydro-, bio- and geochemical processes and interactions link all these aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
The Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu has been selected to host ATW 2009. Nestled majestically between the sea and the mountains, on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River, it is the perfect location to overlook at this superb region.
